M.O.M. Mothers Of Monsters

Release Date: March 13, 2020

Run Time: 1 hour & 38 minutes

Reviewed By: Adam

A distraught mother (Melinda Page Hamilton) suspects her teenage son (Bailey Edwards) is plotting a school shooting, but when he slips through the cracks of the system, she is forced to take matters into her own hands. After installing an elaborate spy camera system in their home, Abbey captures a series of disturbing videos that confirm her worst fears.
Torn between a mother’s unconditional love and a mother’s acute intuition, Abbey caters her videos to all the other “mothers of monsters” online. Abbey’s plan backfires when Jacob uses a dark family secret against her, launching both mother and son on a terrifying, and ultimately deadly, game of cat and mouse.

I’ll start by saying M.O.M. Mothers of Monsters is a MUST WATCH! It reminded me of the Paranormal Activity series, but much more realistic. Especially in today’s day and age. This movie hits hard. It’s very current, very real, and very creepy. It’ll without a doubt, raise your heart rate.

M.O.M. Mothers of Monsters is my early favorite for thriller of the year.

One thing I found to make this movie even better was the home video footage of Bailey Edwards when he was young. Actual home video footage. The director and editors twisted the way we view the footage to make his character truly seem psychotic. Speaking of Bailey Edwards… bravo young man! What a performance. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of him in the near future. Melinda Hamilton was great too, but Bailey was perfection. The entire movie was cast wonderfully and we even got ourselves an Ed Asner cameo!

M.O.M. Mothers Of Monsters will have a limited theatrical release in March 2020 and then will be available through digital HD. If you have the chance to catch it in theaters, go. I was freaking out just watching on a computer. I can only imagine if I had the surround sound of the theater. If you have to wait until digital, it’s a perfect Friday/Saturday night, turn the lights off, kind of movie. Either way, don’t let this one pass you by.
