“A year immersed in the visually-stunning and humorous world of competitive creative dog groomers reveals that, no matter where or how, an innate passion for imaginative expression is universal.“

I really enjoy these niche competition type documentaries. Mainly because I, myself, compete in the niche sport of WIFFLE ball. I’ve been playing with my team, Way Too Beautiful, since 2007 and it’s always funny to see some of the reactions you get upon telling people about it. Same goes for Well Groomed. Never in a million years did I think that dog grooming would be this competitive, but I’m also not surprised. The documentary itself is pretty average and might not be for everyone, but it certainly is an interesting and different subject. I always enjoy learning about something new and that’s exactly what happened with Well Groomed.
I’m also glad they touched on the subject of, is this right or wrong to do to the dogs. I’m still not fully sure which side of that line I’m on, but I’m glad they didn’t avoid the topic.
A shorter version of Well Groomed debuted on HBO back in December, but now the full length (88 minute) version is available on DVD and VOD.

This one sounds really interesting..definitely a “different” topic…who would think??
