The Argument follows Jack (Dan Fogler) and his girlfriend, Lisa (Emma Bell) as they get into an argument during a get together with some friends over wine and charcuterie in their apartment. As the argument escalates, the party comes to an end and all their friends leave — but the party isn’t really over. Jack and Lisa recreate the party over and over again — with all their guests — in order to figure out who was right.

I was hoping The Argument was going to be funnier… with this cast, I’m shocked it wasn’t. I think I went in with my hopes too high.

However, I would definitely watch it again because it was actually pretty enjoyable and the plot was fresh, which is always a nice bonus since most plots have been stale lately.

It’s also awesome that they came out with their own wine for the movie! Next time I watch The Argument, I’m going to make sure my fiance joins me and we snag a bottle of it. How could we go wrong!?

All in all, even though The Argument wasn’t as funny as I was hoping, it was still enjoyable and one I’d recommend for a date night. Especially if you’ve recently had an argument with your significant other. It’s a great movie to break the ice.

You can catch The Argument in theaters or on demand as of September 4th.
