Martha Travis (Rosanna Arquette) is a medium who makes contact with spirits “on the other side” and connects them with their loved ones still alive, in public performances. Trouble begins when she gives a message to Mary Kuron from her husband, Tom. But Tom isn’t dead – yet. And Martha not only knows he will die, she also knows who killed him. And the murderer knows she knows. Her exploitative, elderly, alcoholic father and manager, Walter Travis (Jason Robards), and Gary Wallace (Tom Hulce), a skeptical investigative reporter fascinated by the story who eventually falls for Martha, try to protect her – or do they.

* Hidden gem alert *

I really wanted to give this 7 stars, but the ending was kind of whack…

However, other than the ending, this was a very underrated horror/thriller from the 80s. It certainly had my attention the entire time. Especially Rosanna Arquette 👀🔥! She absolutely steals the show in this one.

I thought I had things figured out… seems as though I didn’t. My ending would’ve made for an all around better movie though.

The Arrow Video Channel has a lot of fun, hidden gems like this available to stream on demand. If you’re looking for another streaming service, it’s worth checking out.
